Creality3D, the Chinese manufacturer of 3D printers, has announced the open-sourcing of its most popular 3D printer, the Ender My amazing wife bought me a 3D printer for Christmas this year along with some other dope stuff! Any structure needs a strong foundation. The same is true for 3D printed objects.

Leveling the bed on your Creality Ender 3 will ensure that that all-important first layer is solid For newcomers, this is the most common problem. Do not worry, you can solve it easily. Generally, the distance between nozzle and platform is too far or near.

So rotary the knob under platform to adjust the distance between the nozzle and platform again,at a piece of A4 paper distance or less. This happens for the following reasons: 1.

Thermistor port of nozzle is not plugged into the motherboard above, or poor contact; 2. Thermistor port of nozzle is broken, you need to replace the spare thermistor. Thermistor port of nozzle screw is locked tightly, cause the temperature can not be sensing. Please check axis lines and limit lines whether the one-to-one correspondence, whether loose. Tighten all belts as far as possible. No, Ender 3 is a semi-assembly machine.

If you don't know much about a 3D printer, it takes about two or three hours. Does Creality Ender 3 support automatic leveling? Step 1: Adjust the nozzle temperature to the consumable melting temperature and remove the consumables to be replaced. Step 2: Push the new filament along until you feel firm resistance.

This means it has reached the nozzle. Step 1: Set the heating temperature, eliminate old consumables, and make new prints.

Ender 3 Source Code 1. Bought the End 3 back in march, when it came in, I set it up, ran a test, everything went great. I've been making models since then. I've had a few issues but that was me trying out different settings to see what I can do and what it can do and I have been getting better with it. I've found by using the Ultimaker Cura program and plugging the printer to my computer has been doing really great for me. I've haven't done any upgrades to the printer and I do not see to do so at this time as it's been doing what I was hoping it would do.

Great job, Thanks. I received my Ender 3 about two weeks ago and it arrived in perfect condition. After carefully assembling it and leveling the bed following some YouTube videos, I printed my first Benchy!Last Updated: July 18, References. Therefore be sure to think about the stuff you do yourself and respect all the necessary safety precautions! I2S needs very little hardware overhead, but increases the somewhat limited number of GPIOs on the ESP32 significantly, allowing to also connect the stock Ender 3 display as well as a BLTouch and also parts cooling, control board and hotend fans independently.

He also developed his own ESP32 controller which this board is heavily based on. This is the third iteration of the board, and although it has only been in use for a few hours yet, it does seem to work nicely in every respect. All work fine, move axe, control temperature … But I have a problem with the SD card. I can't read the SD card. I have test two different SD card. It look good! Ok in that case I think issue come from Marlin support in 1. Ok I just tested on my test system with Marlin 1. Look like the M20 on your system does not give file size so file name is not found as not matching the expected patern Can you try the enclosed webUI and feedback index.

Hi Luc, It look better but not good I see the file, I can do nothing with : no print, no delete, no updload :. Upgrading to Marlin is more on you - I do not use Marlin as none of my Printers use Marlin, I just have it on test boards, so I cannot comment what is the best for your Printer.

I suggest you to ask on Forum what would be the benefit and also the possible drawback. Thank you, I will check it for inspiration. Do you know how I can check actual firmware version in my printer?

Finally, I will use another solution because the transfert of the SD Card are to slow. See the issue Can you give me more info? I am very interested in this topic or can I contact you in any other way? Thank you. IInickII Look at this octoprint. Labels Compatibility Marlin 1. X outdated question.I upgraded to a Duet 2 wifi a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. A bit spendy but worth it in terms of ease of use once calibrated and quality of prints.

I have UART control on the and this a great low cost modification. As far as Wi-Fi goes, I am not there yet. I do most printing from the SD card. These things are almost silent as far as the steppers are concerned, the next project is to do something about the cooling fan noise, which is now quite noticable.

Looks like a great project TMC's with digipots and later UART control, options for sensors, fan mosfetsand legit considering no pre-orders until he has a working product ready to sell.

Due to being 32bit it may edit be a bit different experience in setting up Marlin 2. Edited since I have read some reviews that indicates that some 32 bit boards can be set up with the Arduino IDE I had to use Atom for my 32 bit board running Marlin2.

I have upgraded to a duet2wifi, I had to recalibrate the extruder and retraction settings, but other than that, it was worthwhile: whisper silent stepper motors internet capability costumisation ahoy.

Currently looking at Fysetc F6. Totally lost as a beginner what drivers to get yet lol. I need to get it ordered so I can have time to gen up. Same area, but I designed a case with the lerdge x rotated by 90 degrees and the bed mosfet next to it. I have an Ender 5 so it should have plenty of space for the bed mosfet. Came from factory Dead so might as well do the upgrade.

I am looking to upgrade the board to a good valued board. I would like to get one with bootloader, wifi, usb, dual extruder capable, abl, and a filament sensor. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be the best just meet the minimum specs. It does everything you need as you listed above. Slow uploading as expected. OctoPi is a mini computer, and it can do much more. Also, I have recently been looking at a new board for my delta which I may have zapped with a static discharge.

It is new, and support seems light right now, but looks like there is a pins. IMHO, 32 bit is probably more than is needed on a Cartesian but can't hurt if the price is right, may be worth a look:. I like the idea of a 32 bit board and the format appears to be the same as the MKS Gen L, so I am going to investigate this one, even though I just installed the Gen L boards.

Haha, I did not mean to infer that Cartesian are lowly :D In fact if it were not for my Ender3, I would not have a working printer right now. I just did not want to spend the cash on 32bit for my Ender3 since it chugs along pretty well on a stock board with TH3D. If the cost is the same though, 32bit is a great thing to have, even if just for a bit of future proofing, which makes the SKR very appealing. According to the thread I linked, there may be a new version on the way, but really it seems to have enough in the v1.

That is not how I was taking it at all. Maybe a 3rd printer in my future??? I might wait for the V1. Interested to hear your results if you do this mod.

The blue things attached to the top of the printer and the black box at the bottom left corner in front of it were printed with this printer.

Blue things are to help filament spooling and to hold the scraper, and the black box was made to hold a Raspberry Pi. Couldn't be happier. I would love to say this has been a great experience. It's sad because I planned on buying more as my printing business is growing. I hope this is resolved sooner than later.

I thought I could use the "switch" module of Smoothieware like this: switch. It's more a smoothieware question, but if anyone has a hint, I will happily take it. And ask smoothieware else Sorry Luc. Im' not clear. But you have to setup your hardware so that they work. In Smoothieware, the switch module allows to link these gcodes to a hardware pin that, e. In my case, the Smoothieboard microcontroller has no pin to control. Smoothieware cannot control the pin state of the ESP ESP change the pin state, so you could connect the smoothieware pin to the pin that command this relay directly.
