We have updated our site and moved a few things. An updated version of this page is available here:. Below is a list of the custom tools we have built for Ark: Survival Evolved. These tools will help you quickly and easily generate the code you need to customize your Ark server.

Because of the enormous number of customizations possible and the sheer size of some of the code used to do so, we have created a handful of smaller tools rather than one or two giant ones. For detailed information on finding the customization files for these situations, or for a general overview of what customization can do for you, please see this page: Balancing Ark. Custom web-based tool for generating the customization code required to add custom levels and engram points to Ark Dedicated Servers.

Want to adjust the harvest amount for the Base Resources? Or perhaps adjust the spoiling time for various items? Check out this tool! It will allow you to quickly and easily generate the code needed to modify your ark server with your customized options!

The stats that are affected by this tool include the Xp multiplier for experience awarded per action, as well as the critical stats for Dinos, Players, and Structures. These stats include resistance to incoming damage, multipliers for damage dealt per attack, stamina, food, and water drain, as well as healing rate multiples.

With this tool you can configure fundamental taming factors. You can adjust the multiple for the taming time to make it faster to tame Dinos, and you can choose which Dinos are and are not tameable.

This tool will allow you to adjust the overall spawn multiplier, thus either increasing or decreasing the rate at which Dinos spawn in the game. You can also choose to disable or substiute the spawn of Dinos. For example you could disable the spawning of Raptors and replace Dilo spawns for Dodo spawns. In fact, you can do all three of these things and more. Changing Engram level requirements, point costs, disabling prerequisites, and even disabling the engrams themselves, can be done quickly and easily with this tool.

Adjust the options for the engrams, click the button, and you have your code. If you adjust these values you can control the amount of the increase. Set the corresponding multiplier to 2.

The Upgrade Station mod adds a workbench where you can improve the quality of your weapons, tools, and armor yourself. You can also use the upgrade station workbench to tear down extra items for materials, which is a nice alternative to chucking them in the river like I do.

It will take you some serious time to build Stargates and power up their zero-point modules. Once you do, though, you can connect a network of Stargates and give yourself fast access to different parts of the island.

The bigger your base gets, the more of a chore it is to keep it running. There is some overlap between Automated Ark and Structures Plus, especially regarding auto-pulling items between storage chests and crafting tables.

I hate flint. If you want to carry tons and tons of materials but carrying a backpack with six tons of obsidian feels like a game-breaker, embrace the primitive island setting and go old-school: hitch a wagon to your butt and start pulling.

A parachute that evaporates when you land? Come on, Ark. Thankfully, Reusable Plus adds blueprints for reusable versions of the bola, grappling hook, and spear.

Hello I'd like to ask about pathfinding reliability of dinosaurs that can be sat to wonder in order to gather resources, namely the gigantopithecus, doedicurus and the castorides.

Ark Survival Evolved - Fastest way to collect lots of metal *UPDATE

Since resources stop spawning if too close to a wall, areas on top of cliffs cannot be walled off to keep these creatures contained. Does anyone have any experience regarding this? When they first came out, I thought they were a nice feature. In a way they still are. Trouble is, they tend to wander around, and get lost. Or just get into trouble with hostile creatures. Just recently on a scorched earth map a tribemember set ALL the dinos on wander.

I asked him why, so they auto gather. I told him only ONE of them, the doed will do that. This is after I spent 30 minutes looking for it. They gather up to half their max weight, then continue to wander around. It is actually faster to just ride them and harvest that way. You can set it to wonder only to find it "wondered" outside your sealed in pen and is now wandering into a Rexs face. I've lost my gigantopithecus that was such a pain to tame while on wander - no message saying he died, just gone.

After that I've never used this option again.

Ankylosaurus

Only way it would really work is if you slap a tracker on them too. Seems you'd spend the same amount of time trying to find them as it would take to farm it yourself. Had a tracker on one of the doeds that was wandering. I emptied her, went to put more berries, and gone. She just despawned. And one of the tribemates was on the quetzal said she had just vanished. She took a step forward, and gone. So even with a tracker they will vanish. I also keep a few rexes inside set on neutral just incase anything spawns inside.

I usually keep dumping all the mats inside the brontos until they are full.

When they are full I usually go on a building spree. I have had one dodic disappear though, a rock probably spawned on him or maybe he glitched though the wall.

It saves me tons of time because I play solo on officials. Doeds will automatically break rocks within their attack's reach even if NOT on wander mode, as long as they're not set to follow. Of course that will only happen if you park one next to a rock and jump off. But again, it'll gather ONLY up to half its weight limit. So it's kind of useless. I've had 2 of my 3 dung beetles disappear that were set to wander inside a fenced off pen, that was inside a multiwall large barn.

They fell through the foundation a few times and I'd have to break the foundation to get them to follow me out, or just have them follow me out anyway twice before they vanished. Avoid using. So I was just wandering around with my freshly tamed Karkinos carrying a Doed and an Anky.

To my surprise and delight, the Doed auto-harvested every rock that I held it near while it was still in my Karkinos' claws, however, my Anky simply sat there and did nothing. I spawned in a Castoroides as a test, and sure enough it harvested wood while held in the Karkinos' claws. It would truly be amazing for my sparkpowder, and even metal runs, if Anky's auto-harvested in the same way. Karkinos utility in both Single-Player and Multi-Player would sky-rocket even further! Also, Anky's do not need to gather stone, just flint, metal, obsidian, and crystal.

It just overlaps the Doed and reduces the Anky's innate usability. I think this is probably why Anky's don't have auto harvest, it would make gathering metal a little too easy I suppose On the other hand, having them autoharvest your metal always reduces their yield as compared to interacting with them manually.

Because on their own they get overburdened, whereas when coordinated they can still be used even when they are overburdened. Passive collection of materials is something that has be be closely controlled, especially with the more valuable resources like metal. Well, we'll see how it pans out. It certainly wouldn't break my heart if it happened. It'd be nice if they did, but I understand why they don't. Everyone above has made pretty valid points.

I do agree that allowing it on single-player would be a good idea, though. General Discussion. Archived This topic is now archived and is closed to further replies. Doed and Beaver both Autoharvest, Why not Anky?

Posted August 30, They should allow it to auto harvest atleast for single player. Posted August 31, I'm all for them scrapping the stone harvest. Posted September 1, Go To Topic Listing.

Would be nice to get the metal on side of the mountains without a Quetzal. Thank you. I agree. It would be a great help. This would probably come in their TLC if it does come at all.

That said there are mods that do implement this, but of course that's not helpful for most of the crowd. A simple QoL thing, really. I think every creature that can be carried by an argy should have that ability actually. Would be a nice option to make a prefered items farm from dinos like only metal or only flint so that you dont need to throw away that stone every minute. I think it is just not implemented.

Can't think of a PvP case where this would be a problem. I was thinking maybe they don't want to add it to make it more difficult for players on PVP to advance to all metal structures. Either way, I would love it the Anklyo could be used like the Doed. Ankylo used to auto harvest a long time back. I used to put two at the front of my ships to break the stone along the rivers and waters edge on the island so I didn't have to go as deep in Leed Whale areas or keep dodging rocks for clipping.

Not entirely sure why it was disabled, but I think it was in due to making metal, obsidian and crystal farming way too easy when they were meant to be a harder to obtain resource.

With Gacha's in play now and them making hundreds per hour each, I think it would be entirely fair on any server to have auto-harvest enabled on them. Doedic's cut weight a lot so it takes longer to reach that threshold. Unless this feature broke recently the anky usually swings on first node I'm near and beyond that i have to do it myself.

I think a better option to aid in solo grinding would be the ability to utilize the Held tames melee attack over the flown creature. This would allow you to fly an Argy for example, but swing with the anky.

Actually, I'd like to see this taken a bit further, cos filling an ankey or doed for that matter to it's weight-related shutoff happens very quickly. I definetily think this is a great idea. The only reason I can see that doeds do and akies don't is that people use metal as a currency.

Would it devalue anything meaningful? Doubt it.This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of what the survivor Helenathe author of the dossiers has written. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game creatures. Unlike many of the herd animals on the Island, Ankylosaurus crassacutis tends to live in small family units.

I believe they can afford to stick with smaller groups because of their incredibly thick skin, for which they're named.

Despite not being among the largest of the Island's herbivores, Ankylosaurus is one of the more difficult creatures to take down. Its thick, armored skin seems to make it more than a match for several of the mid-sized predators that would otherwise hunt it. Reckless carnivores are just as likely to hurt themselves on Ankylosaurus' spikes, as they are to get hit by its tail.

One of the wealthier human tribes on the island utilizes a squad of Ankylosaurs in its mines and quarries.

The creature's affinity for metal enables it to carry raw ore at an effectively reduced weight. Ankylosaurus can be found peacefully wandering around the Island. They will not attack unless provoked, and since they can deal a devastating blow with their tail club if angered, it is best for survivors to leave this beast alone.

They have a very low movement speed on land but can move significantly faster in water. Ankylosaurus is a species of medium, quadrupedal herbivore that inhabits the Ark's. Its skin is adorned with a thick coating of spikes, bony plates, osteoderms, and fused bone. The head has plentiful spikes, as well as a beak at the tip of the mouth and enlarged nasals. They are relatively low to the ground with short legs and a low head; they protect themselves by wielding a wicked club on the end of their muscular tails.

The only region not covered with body armour is the belly. This section displays the Ankylosaurus's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Ankylosaurus. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Ankylosaurus will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme.

Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID. Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized.
